well, i just decided to revisit my chance thread and saw that i put my act score as a 32 instead of a 31. Maybe it was wishful thinking, but anyways, am i still a competitive applicant?

Uh, I don’t know if this has been posted, but Yale will see your SAT I scores. When you submit your SAT II scores, the SAT I scores are included.

I didn’t take the SAT I

I’m pretty sure that without SAT I scores, you’re an instant reject. (At least for the East Coast)

^I don’t think so

I’ve talked to admissions people and they say that they have no preference.

Yeah, I opted not to take the SAT I but just the ACT and Subject Tests. I’m from the East Coast and I geuss about 25% each year chooses to do this and a lot of them are still admitted to HYPS and other elite schools, they really have no preference as long as your scores are good.

im not from the east coast, but from a small texas town

even more of a reason why the ACT is just as good as the SAT

If a school accepts both the SAT and ACT, they usually don’t have a preference. If they really didn’t want you to send in an ACT score in place of the SAT I, then they’d make the SAT I mandatory.
