I know that I can do Army ROTC there, but I spoke with the head of NROTC (my first choice over Army) and she said that I can only do the NROTC at UPark. The reason I choce Altoona over Hazelton is that it is only 45 miles from UPark, so if I ever wanted to go up to see a game, I could without dirivng 100 miles both ways.

Ps, I just realize your from serviceacademy forums, haha. I was confused on how you knew I wanted to do rotc

^^
Yes, I just read that both AROTC an AFROTC allow you to attend Altoona and still be a part of their PSU UP ROTC programs but not Navy. Good luck with your other college apps and you application for a transfer at PSU.

General Comments: Surprised no summer offer atleast, who do they expect to attend the summer seesions. Students with 3.5GPA plus and 28 or better ACT’s Yes I’m a little bitter but PSU needs to get over it’s self

blue line don’t take it personally…schools like PSU get so many applications its pretty much a numbers game- your GPA was low- I saw your other thread you had some medical issues- and upward trend in grades- at other schools they might take the time to weigh that into the decision but PSU has so many qualified applicants it just selects those with the highest gpa/SAT per the bubble chart I’m sure you have seen. It doesn’t really reflect upon you as a person, you are probably just as able to succeed at PSU as others. At least PSU wasn’t your first choice so don’t sweat it!

I’m still waiting to hear back very nervously…I applied October 28, anyone know when I might hear from them?

I’m guessing they accept applications in cycles based on major, because there were a few School of Engineering at the beginning and I haven’t seen any since…

PSU has the WORST process. It’s rolling…but it’s not. You can apply early but not have a decision made until the end when there are less spots available, possibly losing your spot to less qualified people. I mean, the reputation isn’t even that good–it’s like ‘where do you go to school?’
“Penn State”
'oh that’s nice–they have a good football team bla bla bla"
