I feel like we can breath he was all over the board. He loves NYC and BUY but when he came down to it Ithaca just fit what he need. Hang in there everyone your in the home stretch @goingplacesmomd everyone said same to us great problem to have which we were so very grateful but just couldn’t wait til decision. Good luck the rest of the way!!

@kategrizz wow right down to the wire for you!!! Can’t wait til you can put this part behind you!!

From the “been there, done that” category - five years ago my daughter hit the button at 11:59:59, it will happen one way or the other, and most thrive one way or the other.

Perhaps it is their innate drama manifesting itself?

I was summoned to d’s “Heights” rehearsal today to pick up her prom paraphernalia and her newly written Pros and Cons list! OCU …Ball State…Ball State …OCU… May 1st is opening night AND decision day… Crazy!!!

@futbrodmom - our D is just fnishing her freshman year as an MT at OCU. If we can answer any questions for you, let us know. Our D is very happy at OCU. She also has a friend finishing her freshman year at Ball ST. She appears to be doing well also. You’ve got great choices!

My D is a freshman MTO at Ball Stare. Feel free to ask any questions . She has had a fantastic year.

Soooo, just returned last night from our visits. My S is also in the same terrible boat. He cannot decide between Point Park and University of Miami. Both programs are good, offering varying opportunites, and different methodologies. He actually asked me to make the deposit to PPU this morning, and changed his mind less than two hours later. He has now placed a phone call to UM to get more questions answered (we just left there yesterday). Dear Lord give us strength and guidance!! I’m thinking the pros and cons list is in our near future. His biggest concern is the voice training. He has certain apirations for himself as far as voice development and he is not sure which school will get him there.

For what it’s worth @MTMommaJAA - my S is finishing up freshman year at PPU and has received outstanding voice training - loves the program and everything about it. Feel free to PM if I can help.

LOL @MtMommaJAA I was just there where you were two days ago. He said I am declining NYU then said no give me another hour this went on all day and finally the list came out and that is what finally decided it for him. Ithaca just was a better fit for him. Good luck. Your in the home stretch!!

I’m a huge fan of the pros and cons list. Somehow seeing it all laid out in black and white – the good and the not so good - helps put it all in perspective. Good luck to everyone still making decisions!

I totally agree @vvnstar. I think each person is looking for something different from the program and even though the school may be excellent it may not be as strong in one area as another. Good luck to everyone still deciding.

Yes, I am a fan of the pros/cons list too. It was that very list that demonstrated (quite suddenly) that for my D, there was only one “con” about Ball State and it was proximity to us. Even the cold didn’t matter as it’s only 5 degrees or so on average lower than us in Virginia. Everything else about the school and the program (i.e. faculty, curriculum, the feel, the MT students and their talent level, the environment, the dorms, the dining, the people - I could go on) simply put just jumped off of the page.
The pros/cons list might really help your sons and daughters - particularly if you put the variable into a rank order so that the higher the ranking the higher the weighting.
Good luck and you’ll obviously find your way within 10 short days! I hope you decide tomorrow for your own sanity. haahah

Miami…PPU…Miami…PPU…Miami…PPU…you get the picture as the pendulum swings.

@goingplacesmomsD exactly the same happened here for us. When he wrote it on paper it all became very clear to him. Whoever first suggested it thank you. It helped speed our process up. I honestly have slept in the past two mornings. I haven’t done that in years. We are talking 9:00 am!!!

Lol. I think it might have been my suggestion. It came out of sheer desperation, but I’m glad it has helped all of you too!! Now I guess we all get to walk the class of 2019 through all of this chaos!!

@bwaybabie – yes, please!!! We are looking to you older (only because the process aged you all considerably), wiser parents to help us through!

@Divamamacita I will be there for you! Others helped me- I’m all about paying it forward!

I am going to have a post on the theatre/drama final decisions thread soon…and I am still going to be able to call myself dramamom!!

Did anyone else find it very hard to turn down acceptances? After all the angst of getting accepted, I felt sick to my stomach when my daughter sent her e-mails declining offers.
