Tks @MTMommaJAA ! This is very handy!!!
This is a little off-topic, but maybe something for you all to do to pass the time… (Besides wine & donuts!) It was something we didn’t realize anyone would want, but our high school (and also D’s local theatre program) wanted to know how much scholarship money she’d been offered overall. I had files that I hadn’t thrown out yet (or BURNED haha), thank goodness, so was able to add it all up. I guess it looks good for them to be able to say their students were offered X amount of money. In our case, it added up to a lot - guess the MT kids with all the schools they’re applying to can raise those averages!
Hey @MTMommaJAA , that could be a very helpful resource if it was updating dynamically in real time! I had a while ago asked for exactly the aggregated info above regarding notification dates!
@collegmom and other mods, would it be acceptable to make a separate thread just for updating this notification-timing list? It’s a little unclear as written whether any of this is information from the current admissions cycle or whether it is all Class of 2018. It would be soooo convenient to have 2019 notification-timiing updating occur on a separate thread for ease of access and general clutter reduction on this all-purpose thread.
Someone tried to do this a few days ago and the moderator locked it so I doubt you will be able to get a new thread…although the 2018 group was allowed a separate thread for notifications so not sure why you guys can’t.
I’m unclear about the rules of what threads are permitted and why - don’t even know where to look for those rules. That’s why I’m inquiring rather than end up in a tussle. It is interesting to know that such a thread was permitted last year. Maybe we’re supposed to just start posting on last year’s thread. From my point of view, it would be great to have fewer topics jammed into a single thread. I find this one very hard to navigate.
I agree @vocal1046 The moderator said you can only have one general thread, but acceptance notifications sounds pretty specific. We have a rejection one for 2019 so I would think you could have one for the other. But it was denied. Maybe they will change their minds.
I can confirm that Indiana has already made calls for acceptances :-*
Indiana has been making calls since the fall. I know several kids who were admitted on a rolling basis at different times.
I think CCM has completed the notification of their accepted students.
If tradition holds, all NYU acceptances, all schools, will be sent out the last Friday of March, in this case, March 27. That is the end of the first week back after their spring break. They hold a ‘ceremony’ at 5:00 PM and push the ‘button’ that releases all the emails. In the past, when you could only apply to one school, that meant that an acceptance meant you were accepted academically and artistically. Of course, Tisch specific programs were sent out a bit later. However, I think I’m correct in now understanding that you could be offered a position into a liberal arts alternative program instead. Can someone else speak to that?
Ok…my d experience was the ultimate in cruelty. She received a big envelope with congratulations on the outside. She was so excited when she opened it. Inside she found an invitation to accepted students along with a letter rejecting her from the program. I was so incensed I contacted the head of admissions to voice my deepest displeasure. He called my d to apologize. She said that was the most awkward 2 minutes. Yeah! It happens. We burned the “acceptance/rejection” package in effigy.
Interesting tidbit… Ithaca Portal says it will be unavailable on March 4th from 5:30-6:30am…hmmmm
Correction 5:30-6:45
Yes! Last year CMU made calls on a Sunday. Not all schools make a phone call, but I love that some do. The kids must feel some kind of wonderful to answer the phone and hear CONGRATULATIONS!
So, @tmygirl … What are you doing on 3/4 at 6:46am? LOL…
CMU has auditions this weekend and then they’re done, believe.
Baldwin Wallace sends a big envelope for acceptances.
The list of notification dates was from the Class of 2018 wave. We updated as we went along. I’m sure you can start a new thread for that. We had threads for many different lists as you all have seen… We’re proud of our lists! ;
CMU had last auditions the wknd of 2/21-2/22
Thank you @GSOMTMom for your lists!!
Hmmm, I know someone who said she’s going to audition at CMU this weekend.
