Allright Diva!! Great news!!

Hard decisions to be made.

D just texted me and said there a lot of hot boys in the program.

=))

@divamamacita … WOOHOO!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!!!

Important information to have, @KaMaMom!!!

I have heard worse reasons for picking a program

Wow. Just posted Final Decision Background and now I feel kind of weepy! What a long, strange trip this has been.

I raise a glass! ^^^^^

Yes, @KaMaMom , I hate to inquire about the obvious, but are many of them straight?

You made it @Divamamacita - welcome to the other side.

@addicted2MT … ha! Yes! That was actually the full text … “hot straight boys!”

It is not an overstatement to say that my D’s concerns about the availability of hot straight guys influenced some her decisions. There are worse ways to call a tie-breaker.

My D always seems to become besties with the hot Gay boys, so she’ll take a class full of those as well!

Theater programs tend to have many gay guys and many straight ones too. My D has a lot of gay male friends (for that matter, gay female friends too!), but every guy she has ever dated, including her BF of the last 5.5 years, is an actor who is straight (and also went to her BFA program). So, there’s besties and there are boyfriends.

One of the great things about the theatre is that diversity in sexuality and gender identification are commonplace.

Agreed. Theater is (and should be) a very broad tent.

As a high-school teacher who’s had two of my own go through theater programs, I also really like the fact that theater kids are much more likely to be relaxed and matter-of-fact about sexuality/gender issues. It was an unexpected bonus that my son came back from his precollege programs with a wider awareness and acceptance of gender diversity than he EVER would have acquired in his high school, where these conversations are still fairly taboo, at least where I live and teach.

It’s funny, I was having a conversation with my D about the issues with Indiana etc- and she was genuinely baffled byt why people would have an issue- sexual diversity has been a part of her world (primarily via theater, but in other areas too) for years - and IS her version of “normal”.

The kids will save us all.

CC friends, it is weird to be done…posted my final decision/background report

Without flipping a coin… What’s the easiest way to make a decision?
