Class of 2020- Admission Status

So, wait. If I understand it, PSA doesn’t offer engineering? So would I even be considered for Engineering, if both my majors are engineering?

@TrumpetMel I’m majoring in history too! I was accecpted back in January! You’ll probably get accepted. My stats weren’t very good and I wasn’t top 10% in my class, and I still got in!

My Daughter just now received PSA in AIS. The website says Zoology is not participating in PSA next year, and there are no other main universities in TX with a Zoology degree. Top 11%. 9 people short of automatic admission. Heartbreaking. Her dreams of being in the Corps with her brother are dead as well. She can join later, but the experience is just not the same.

I got PSA too… Disappointed, but I’ll live. Good luck to anyone else.

GustafAngus- Check out engineering program at TAMUG. Maybe call and speak to admissions there. Good luck!

@123VCA Thanks, but I think I’ll pass. I’ve been accepted to Clemson, and that’s a great school for me I believe. I will also be hearing from Purdue and Penn State, so I’ll see where it’ll take me.

@AgME89 will your daughter possibly be top ten percent when she finishes this year?

Got PSA offer today. Definitely disappointed but I’ll get over it. Looks like I’ll be going to UCF which also has a great engineering program, so it’s not the end of the world. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

@ccook25 I guess it didn’t work out for us two! haha. Good luck wherever you go, mate.
And special thanks to everyone sharing their info on this forum, most imporantly, I wanna thank you, @hoping4admit, you’re awesome! Good luck y’all!

@GustafAngus I have been pulling for you and I am sorry to hear this :frowning: But I know you will excell wherever you choose to attend. all the best and Good Luck!

@GustafAngus I’m glad I was some help.

I wish your outcome was different. I’m so glad you & @cook25 have strong options.

I wish you both the best!

To the class of 2021.
If you read through the TAMU class of 2020 thread - notice that nothing is a given in admissions. There simply isn’t room for all the talented applicants. Some of us in review thought only full admission would do, but grew to learn that Blinn and Gateway are a great opportunity and perhaps we will even appreciate our days at A&M at little bit more due to going through this process.

@GustafAngus & @ccook25 Though I am disappointed for you both but glad the excruciating wait is over. Both have got into great schools … you will sure do well. All the best to you both.

So apparently, my application is still in review, I tried to call yesterday but the line was full. I read on Twitter that some decisions were made so close that it only updates by Monday . But why don’t I even get an email yet

@LoveAM I’ve have never received an email regarding admission information since I submitted my application even after they offered me TEAM… I wouldn’t rely on getting an email as part of the decision process

UT email me to check the status when I was offered CAP @niccidoe

@LoveAM UT emailed me about my acceptance too. TAMU may send an email eventually, but I’m guessing they’re so backed up (given that decisions were done by March so far) that the system hasn’t caught up(?) Maybe they just don’t send decision emails (they seem to rely on students using Howdy and AIS for communication which in itself both have to catch up with each other).

I’m still curious about your major change and no notification about your decision by now. Have you checked your Communications in AIS? You should have at least one letter about them receiving your application, but maybe there’s one about a decision? I would assume your chat with admissions would have revealed an admission if they knew when you called, but since they still had many to finish yesterday, it may still be in line.

@niccidoe I only have 1 letter saying that they received my application. I really hope to be admitted to Galveston or main campus would be great

@LoveAM if you have trouble getting through to main campus admissions, try Galveston admissions. They can see AIS since it is the same admissions systems. Maybe they can explain the GV you are seeing.

Good call @hoping4admit ! I agree that Galveston admissions may know something. Do that first thing Mon if you’re still in review (or if there’s no other clue of updates… because, as you’ve read, being in review lingers for days even after their final decision – especially if you’re admitted!

I’m really hoping that you’re getting Full admission @LoveAM . PSA seems to have been assigned. I know TEAM is closed because my “change major” link says it is. So, I’m not sure what GV means for you, but I’m hoping for the best! You still have the change major button in Howdy correct?
