Request to join and one of us (current students already in the group) will add you. It’s called “Pomona College Class of 2020”
Accepted!! @-)
Rejected, and honestly surprised and heartbroken. I go to an NYC private school, have a 32 on the ACT, have a 4 on both the psych ap and lit ap even though my school doesn’t offer ap courses, and have many many extra curriculars including a decent amount of volunteer work. I only got a 690 on my lit sat2 which is a weakness, but I didn’t think it would bring me down too much. I really felt that Pomona was the perfect fit for me and I had that amazing feeling everyone talks about as soon as I stepped on campus, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Congratulations to everyone who got in, you are all incredible! Make sure to take advantage of all your time at Pomona since it really is such a special, one of a kind, place.
P.s.
Did anyone get deferred?
I got deferred
Also deferred
Accepted!
Rejected, unfortunately! Can’t say I’m surprised, though. So happy for everyone who was accepted! Best of luck to us all in the days/weeks/months/years to come =D>
ACCEPTED! I’m so grateful! And that’s great that so many of us got in! @ravenclaws (starter of this thread), did you check yet?
Accepted! I’m ecstatic, can’t stop smiling. Congratulations to my fellow classmates! To everyone, know that you’re excellent, regardless of Pomona’s decision. The road does not end here, and I anticipate wonderful things in store for all of you. Best of luck!
I also got deferred sadly I was wondering if there are any others who got deferred have applied for financial aid and is an international student. Plus did any one of you who got in recieve FA?? Also I wanted to know if there are international students who recieved aid. And Congrats to all of you who got in
you must be so happy!!
@blueskyblue I got FA, expected contribution is about $12,000 annually (but I’m not an international student…).
i applied ED1 but have not seen any change to my portal. Have people heard through the portal or by snail mail or email? thanks.
@jsk255 I found out through the portal.
@uncertaintea you’re too kind! You’ll end up going to a great school nonetheless :)))
and yeah when I got my decision I looked down and saw that the know was untied I don’t even remember untying it…
and @jsk255 the portal will say that there is an update, then you just click View Update and it’ll show you your decision.
@cameronlol thank you! I’m actually emailing them and asking for like advice on my app:)
Rejected!
I really wasn’t expecting that, but oh well. Time to move on.
@ravenclaws,
Sorry to be replying so late, but wanted to “shout out” and thank you for taking the lead in this thread. I found it invaluable (for instance, who knew one of the Pomona AOs had a twitter feed!!!), and I especially appreciate the camaraderie and kinship that you fostered with your fellow applicant pool. I am a mom of a Pomona College applicant, and I want you to know, from my perspective, you have exceptional leadership qualities. You communicate well, are chatty when appropriate, supportive, and can pepper in lots of relevant facts and information. In life, these are probably far more valuable in the workplace than a degree from a storied college. So, whatever happens in your college admissions process, please know you have what it takes to go far in the workplace. Job well done, @ravenclaws. I would very much appreciate your sharing where you end up going to college. Thanks so much!!! =D> O:-)
@CallieMom
I really appreciate this kind message! I’m glad to know that I got to help out Pomona applicants. I admit that I was bitter for a while about getting rejected, but I know that everyone who got into Pomona are meant to go there and are wonderful students! (And for everyone who got deferred or rejected, you are all wonderful students as well! Pomona, unfortunately, has a limited amount of spots and they will be losing out on many exceptional students) I just finished applying to all my colleges, so all I have to do now is wait. Thank you so much again for your message! It means a lot to me and makes me feel more confident about myself. Good luck to your daughter/son!
Hello everyone!
I’m not sure if this thread was meant for ED II applicants as well as ED I, but I’m gonna take that chance. I’ve been lurking for a while, but as ED II decisions are set to come out within the next 12 days or so, I decided it was time for me to join the conversation. I’m getting extremely nervous/anxious/excited!!!
Not to make you any more nervous/anxious/excited, but last year EDIIs were posted on 2/6 (although ppdngfr).
