It’s good to know I am not alone in my frustration.
@daughtersdreams definetly! I auditioned at NY Unifieds on Jan 21st. Wishing you and everyone else the best!!!
@bluestickynote Directly from Pace MT on 3/8:
Hi all - the OFFICIAL decision is mailed and I’m still finalizing all 8 programs. Letters will probably start leaving my desk on Monday and it will take a good two weeks before I get all out. MT does have an admit list and some calls have been made. These calls take at least a week depending on faculty availability. If you do not receive your official notification by the end of March (and you are academically admitted), then you may call office. Try not to stress out too much - i know its hard not to this time of year!
So if they started calling on the 8th or a few days before, then they should be just about done per what they stated.
No mail yesterday due to snow. This is like being 5 years old and waiting for Santa Claus…but you aren’t sure which day he’s coming…and you aren’t sure if he’s coming down the chimney or just sending a letter… and you’re not altogether sure is he’s leaving presents, coal or an IOU. But the waiting, that part is the same.
@stagedoormama thank you!
My D just got an email from CMU, she applied to two programs. She has not heard back for acting. But, was accepted artistically for Voice Performace BFA. Waiting on academic approval. I started this journey with all of you almost a year ago, totally split between MT and Acting. Her path changed, she grew…she altered course a tiny bit along the way. She has one more school to hear from…but I guess I need to move to the music boards now. I have really enjoyed sharing and learning from you all, thank you for your kindness. I hope I can afford one of these schools. I will enjoy reading the posts and seeing where everyone lands come May.
Emerson Portals are updated…NO for my D…seems she did not get accepted to school as well as program. This is the first school she has not gotten into out of 10 schools academically. Still no BFA…getting very nervous. Only a handful left.
WL for my D at Emerson. They are a “one and done” school, so nobody will ever know if it was their artistic or academic credentials that got them into school or didn’t. WL seems like purgatory, but at least it’s not a “no.”
@DramaMama603 Judging by the wording, for my D, it sounded like both academically and artistically.
Huge congrats to your d @followurheart !
Good luck @followurheart and congratulations!
Congratulations @followurheart! That’s wonderful news! Good luck to your D and I’m glad she found her path!
Sorry @missnypizza. Something will come through. We are just waiting and waiting. Congrats on the WL @DramaMama603. You’re right, it’s not a “no”
@missnypizza We are in the same boat here no yeses or WLs. I feel your heartbreak and nervousness. Hang in there.
Chapman is also “one and done” apparently and their email was worded where it seemed academic…very strange…no mention of BFA or audition at all in the waitlist letter.
From what I understand with Chapman, they wouldn’t let you audition unless you met the admissions requirements. I could be wrong and things could have changed since my daughter applied.
Good luck to everyone hearing back from Emerson and CCPA today!
For those of you still looking for a BFA Musical Theatre audition - I would suggest Western Illinois University. I hire summer stock actors from MidWest Theatre Auditions every year and the last few years the kids from that school have gotten stronger every year. Pretty sure it’s due to a faculty member now in her 3rd or 4th year there. PM me if you want all the details of this school/audition. I know they accept video auditions and have another on campus audition Saturday, March 25th as well. Plus they have waived the out of state tuition. Check it out. And break a leg everyone!
I originally auditioned for MT at Emerson but I was redirected to the BFA in Theatre Performance
I’m not entirely sure this is correct. The year my D applied to Emerson for a BFA in musical theater, she applied/auditioned Early Action. In December of that year, she got accepted to Emerson itself and Waitlisted for the MT program (in fact, I’ll never forget opening that big fat envelope with the bells and whistles about being accepted until reading the fine print that she was WL until Regular Decision for the BFA program). In April, she was denied to the MT program. While she would have never considered it, I guess she could have attended Emerson and studied something else outside the BFA program.
Things could have changed.
I hate to add to the stress… I have heard Elon results will come out this week.
