BAL to everyone auditioning at Wagner tomorrow!!

Last college audition tomorrow morning at Wagner. Whoever mentioned audition fatigue was not kidding. Whew…BAL everyone!

Sent my husband to Wagner to tired to go!

@lincoln56 lucky you! If I thought my D would go for that I’d convince husband that a 5:30 am drive to Staten Island is fun! It’s been a incredibly long haul for everyone! Guessing that this process is like childbirth- you forget the pain. Finish strong everyone!

4 months. 6 states. 2 lost pairs of earbuds. 16 auditions. We are exhausted; but I I am so grateful for, and proud of, the young adult that I got to share this journey with. Her work ethic & determination are going to serve her well-no matter where she winds up.

@owensfolks I agree precious memories

At Wagner today! BAL everyone!

My D auditioned at Montclair yesterday. I shared her MT audition experience on the BFA Acting Audition Experience thread because I can’t find one specifically for MT Audition Experiences. I’ve found that reading others’ audition experiences has been helpful in preparing, so I’m sharing this one. I also told about her BFA Acting audition at Montclair on that thread in the post above the one I’ve linked below. Hope this helps for anyone getting ready to audition at Montclair. BAL!

Thanks @daughtersdreams for the Montclair info on that thread. We’re supposed to head there end of march, last audition and wondering if we should keep it…guess we will see if we have a need for another possible option. I am concerned about that inattentive audition experience your D had. Not making me feel good about us going. Anyone else had issues there? I mean so far (knock on wood) we haven’t encountered any outright rudeness but I am not going to entertain it if it’s common @ this school. I mean everyone has an off day and they’re tired and it’s the end of the season mostly but it’s not like this is a cheap, free process and common respect is expected.

@theaterwork The audition for me was the complete opposite. I went during NY Unified’s as a walk in. Montclair had a walk in wait-list, but they still managed to squeeze me in to audition. I went in and the atmosphere was very warm. During my audition, they were smiling and writing things down. I was completely comfortable and it helped my audition a lot. Clay asked me a few questions about why I was transferring and gave me some more information about Montclair. I was offered a spot in the MT class if I applied and I am heavily considering attending. I am going to see West Side Story on Tuesday and I am super excited! I completely understand wanting to cut down on your audition list, but you might miss out a great opportunity. I auditioned for Montclair on a whim and it might be where I actually wind up. Feel free to ask me any questions!

@theaterwork I tried to make it clear that my D didn’t think they were being rude or uninterested. Only that, unlike other auditions, it wasn’t an interactive experience. As @Aiming4Success mentioned, she thinks they were writing or making notes - presumably on her audition form. Plus, my D was performing her songs to an “invisible” audience beyond the audition table, not looking directly at them, so some may have viewed her performance that she didn’t notice. My D would definitely choose Montclair if offered a spot in either BFA Acting or MT.

@theaterwork My D didn’t feel much love during her audition. She had a scheduled audition during Chicago Unifieds. She took it off her list afterwards.

Last year my D did a walk-in for Montclair felt ignored during the whole audition. But still decided to go to the dance call. She saw something on their dance audition sheets that really irked her. Walked out and said she would never apply for that school.

My D felt the same. I met them and felt they were very rude. We never heard either way from that school. Don’t get that!

My son saw the same on the audition sheets at the dance call.

@momsully11 @stagedoormama Inquiring minds want to know… even a general idea…

yes please. If was on the audition sheet it certainly wasn’t private.

I am assuming that it is the question about weight – something to the effect as to whether the candidate is underweight, healthy weight or overweight.

What was on the dance sheets?
