As someone who does not qualify for financial aid, the restructuring has made it very difficult to use this section on CC. I loved having the National Merit section because 95% of that sub-forum pertained to us. Now, I have to sift through several threads to find something that pertains to us, and titles of threads are no longer clear since the sub-forums have changed (i.e. Chances of Northeastern Scholarship? - what kind of scholarship? NMF or something else?).
I made National Merit Aid back into its own category.
I appreciate that. Thank you!

Hi, do students still have access to the NMSC portal they were originally using for this process? My son tried to log in just once but received a message that after too many log in attempts he needed to reset his password. There weren’t multiple log in attempts; just the one. He’d been wanting to log in to change the email address associated with his portal as his high school email address was deactivated.
I don’t think so. I had to creat an entire new parent account for my ‘25 with the same email.
Your student should receive an letter to their permanent address in March asking them to log on and confirm that they are still enrolled in college. They have three weeks to do this so, if it arrives at home and they are at college, a parent needs to open the letter.
The renewal link is osr.nationalmerit.org It is OSR, not OSA. I’m guessing the A is for application and the R is for renewal.
When they receive the renewal letter, it has a new user ID and PW that is provided by NMSC.
