@Sitzprobe - Not personal experience but I have heard anecdotally that both U Mich and Pace won’t consider applicants a second time around.
@Sitzprobe At CAP Atlanta, they call “One and Done” having no further auditions required. So, just know you may get some mixed up results here…LOL…they literally listed schools as “one and done” (meaning no further auditions/callbacks would be required). That actually turned out NOT to be the case for several that said they were, but… In our experience, the only school who would not see a student twice was Rider. Now…that was in the same calendar year. Several of my students were seen multiple times by the same school this year in CAP Atlanta, NTDA (the following week) and then Unifieds. They ended up getting offers from some of these schools (LIU Post, CAP 21/Molloy, Texas Tech, etc.) Some won’t see you the same year (Rider), but the young man who got no offers last year and ended up blowing it up this year (and being accepted to Texas State) had no issues with this, I hear. Someone else posted about him on here. I saw the list of schools he got offers from and it is impressive. Many of those he auditioned for last year. Then, took a gap year and blew it up this year!
@onette - Yes - I think you are talking about my d’s very good guy friend - last year it was heartbreaking - this year to say he killed it would be an understatement! if we are talking about the same boy - his first audition was Indiana and he got an offer on the spot and it just got better from there - he is going to Texas State. Such a great success story for those considering a gap year.
On another note, I believe Syracuse does not accept a second audition - at least that’s what I heard.
@mtrose2024 the counselor told us we would hear by end of the week. We found out on Friday, 4/17 in the evening. She got the BA Music - and will not be moving forward with OCU. I hope you heard and are happy with your results!
I know someone who applied to U Mich two years in a row, but the first year she didn’t pass the prescreen so maybe it doesn’t fully count? I’ve heard Syracuse will not see you again if you didn’t get in the first time but I must admit that is through the grapevine (I think on this board somewhere) so I don’t have a firm grasp on that.
@onette - thanks for the clarification and for sharing some examples of Gap Year success.
And thanks to everyone else for sharing their experience. It sounds like the cut off for programs is twice not once.
