My son used a Shure MV88+ for his guitar recordings. You can program the mic with the Shure app for recording levels or different settings. I admit I don’t know much about this stuff and I don’t know if brass instruments would work with this, but my husband has used it to record rock band performances too.

Hello. I was here 5 years ago with my son applying to music school. Hes now a classical voice major at manhattan school of music graduating in June. Happy to answer any questions about schools or the process. He was admitted to every school to which he applied with a gpa of i think it was barely a 2.5). Paying it forward because of those who helped me.
