The yarn around the guys ring … I remember that! How funny. That was a real elevation in status.
My older sister and I both got HS class rings. Our two younger sisters didn’t. They opted for attractive rings of roughly equivalent cost. I wore mine until I got my college ring. That one is a signet, and readily recognizable to people who know the college. Many of my college friends have never stopped wearing them. I wore mine for years until I had a job where it could have been damaged. Now it comes out for class reunions and alum events.
