classes hard?

oh, come on… after i got into yale last year, even after i gave up on APs and things like that, i was still obsessed with the course catalog. just because there’s so much amazingly interesting stuff in it.

… if you go on my facebook profile (well, i suppose most people here won’t be able to get onto facebook 'til they get their yale email addys this summer), the yale blue book (a.k.a. the course catalog) is listed under my favorite books. :-P

but yeah, at this point, looking thru the course catalog should be for fun, just to see what yale offers, not b/c you’re worried about what classes to take and how to fulfill distributional requirements and all that rot. advisers will make sure all that gets straightened out next year

and conwoman ~ to place out of intro bio you do need to have the AP bio score. chem, it’s a little different - there’s a placement test at the beginning of the year. if you have a good AP score, they’ll automatically place you into 118a, and the placement test is to qualify you for frosh orgo; if you don’t have an AP score/didn’t take the test, they’ll place you into 113 or 114, and you’ll have to do well on the placement test to get into anything higher.

basically, just decide whether you’d rather take the AP test or have to take a placement exam when you get here
