Classic (Clever) Screennames

I like carbonlifeform.

CleverScreenName here, reminds me of my son’s Science Olympiad T-shirt. (They had numbers like football jerseys and names, my son’s name was “insert name here”.)

There are dozens of great screen names on some of the music trading boards I’m on.

Here are a few

VTCowPhunk
DivideSkye
zappaforme
tomrobin_gdfan
dontbedenied
amishbob
phishinforanincident
SportySpice
panicphreak82
Wolfman’s Sister
digiholic
GottaJibboo
SoManyRds
crackmc

lderochi, I resemble that remark!

And you are right about INadvertent. The old board didn’t let you capitalize screennames or at least I couldn’t figure it out when I created mine. Probably the latter, come to think of it. And, of course, I had no clue that I’d still be active on CC all these years later. :D

Speaking of inadvertant lower cases, mom of 2 in CA, lots of folks don’t realize that lderochi starts with an “L”.

Don’t I know it. :0

On the Art of Problem Solving Forum, my favorite screen name is

Probability 1.01

and there are a lot of other math joke screen names there.

tokenadult, I’ve always found your screen name to be very clever and now that I know you actually participate in ‘On the Art of Problem Solving Forum’ I guess I understand why! :)

Yes, my screen name originated over there, when I thought I was the only adult among many scarily bright young people. Over the years, I’ve met other adults there, including the parent (Texas137, not too bad a screen name) who told me about College Confidential.

who was the cc poster who was a mod on that forum???

mange-tout???

How about PushinTheEnvlp, Old School, crescentfresh, Civilian2b all from the tradin’ boards

mange tout is French for “eat all.”

I nominate ‘Stickershock’. Very fitting for college parents.

I must admit that ellemenop3, momof2inca, soozievt are amongst my favorite and most clever, once I figured them out. However, after all of these years i still can’t get lderochi (I don’t know how to pronounce it, what it means, etc.)

My other favs are MOWC, Lefthandofdog, which no matter how many times I read it, my mind goes to sitting by the right hand of God and bulletandpima (l think they would make great title for the funnies (like calvin and hobbes) and I also love how they share the sn and make references to each other).

Aw come on!!! I never thought my screenname was unique or interesting until I was using it on different sites. Did you all ever wonder why the #1 is part of my screenname? Well…it’s because (supposedly) someone ALREADY had Thumper. Of course, I don’t believe that one bit…not at all. And for some places it’s just plain Thumper…others Thumper1 and others 1Thumper. Go figure.

And most of you know…it’s my dead dog’s name.

My personal favorite is Curmudgeon!!

Thumper - I have a lot of problems with the dead dog image. All three of my kiddos were named Thumper in utero. And Curmudgeon has been a family name for many years, so I’ve had some adjustment to do there, too (since no one in the family rides a motorcycle).

I know several of your “real” names, and have some trouble using them. I got some strange looks when I introduced “mythmom” to my family, at S’s recital. And I have trouble with JYM (“Jim”), too. Since my own screenname is a nickname still in use by family, I have no trouble answering to it.

Binx…he was a VERY cute and lovable dog!!!

I didn’t think it would be someone touting mange (the dog coat disease). I thought it might be “man get out” though…

binx,
since you also know my “real” last name, you understand why I am used to responding to a male name ;)

Another vote for Funding Father.
