Clemson Class of 2028 Official Thread

Quick question. Does anyone know how the honors program works? Is there a separate application and is it too late? Accepted here and curious if this is still an option

Honors College Application Deadline was January 17th

Stats for deferred to accepted fall of 2024:
instate
gpa:3.5/4.5
SAT:test optional
major: Business
my mom and sister were both alumni

i also have a total of 16 dual credit classes

Keep the faith!! Also, you may still want to apply to some great Engg colleges with rolling admissions and high admittance- Iowa State is still accepting applications and is quite highly ranked. That was the first school we applied to as the safety our S24 (with stats not as high as your daughter) was excited to go to.

My daughter didn’t apply to honors when applying, but applied freshman year and was accepted for the following year.

We got bridge. Going to info session. Does anyone know do you still get the football experience stuff access to Clemson facilities?

just fyi- that’s the last weekend of Clemson’s spring break, so it may be kinda dead there then

Bridge kids can’t rush in fall but everything else is available I’m pretty sure. They get to add their name to the lottery for football tickets.

OOS, deferred to accepted for Summer Start. 3.9 w/ 3.9 uw. 2-sport athlete, captain of 1. Good ECs, essay and LORs, TO. Highly regarded large public hs in NE. They don’t rank, but if you do the math on the info sheet, she’d rank around top 20%. Demonstrated interest to the nines.

Thrilled about starting in summer! Grateful. We think it could be really great for her.

Is anyone familiar with how and when Clemson awards merit and scholarship? Would it have arrived with the acceptance or do they release it at a later date? TIA

I’m not sure about merit.

For those doing summer start - does anyone know how housing and roommates work? Also does anyone know if there’s a Facebook parent group for summer starters? TIA

When my son got in 2 years ago it mentioned he would get merit in his acceptance letter and ended up with I think $8k per year OOS. This time with my daughter, same stats as my son, got in for fall early action, but no mention of merit and nothing since then, so I am assuming no merit for her and the stats to get it are higher now.

Waitlisted. We’ll take it!
She had some issues her 1st semester freshman year as we moved due to COVID & also had some family issues, so her GPA suffered tremendously that year.

8 more to go!

The acceptance letter indicated that my daughter would be receiving merit, but did not state an amount - it said that we know by April.

OOS. So Cal Public. Accepted with Merit. 34 ACT and 4.7W

Honors College app is open through April 15 or so

Does anyone know anything about Clemson’s rolling decisions?

I think it won’t work for most programs since people got rejected last night from many of them. But it never hurts to try. I recommend sending an email to the admissions office first, to make sure the major is not full before paying the app fee.

That makes sense. I applied via Clemson’s rolling decision program a few weeks ago. I wondered if I’d get a decision yesterday, but it still shows “awaiting decision.” Not sure what to expect
