CNN: No hook-ups, sex for some co-eds

I cant wait until i attend college. F@ck yes!!! F@ck yes!!!

What exactly is the random hookup thing like? I can imagine it happening, but I can’t imagine purposefully trying only to find someone to have sex with and then not talk to again. Obviously, I think the sentiment against it ever happening is pretty traditional-conservative, but why would anyone not at least hope to make a connection and find someone they actually want to develop a relationship with? Or is that always the hope, but it just rarely works out like that, and things just end with sex?

I guess wanting to date for a while first could be to ensure you aren’t just being used for sex. I’ve never been used for sex, so I don’t know how likely it is to happen. By that, I mean someone pretending not to only want sex. If there wasn’t any deception, I wouldn’t call it being used (/exploited).

/\ gotakun is obviously a chick

Funny… I actually thought it would be obvious I wasn’t a chick since I hadn’t been used for sex lol. Is that sexist? Realist? Just a misconception?

gotakun is obviously a male. probably asian and probably wears glasses and plays warcraft.

Personally, I’d rather date someone than randomly hook up with someone. I’d much rather get to know someone really well before i even think about that let alone not marrying them. Sex is something special and I don’t think it should be used casually. That’s just my opinion, I know tons of people who enjoy random hook-ups and I don’t argue with them because everyone has their own opinions.

I’m on Gotakun and Pierre’s side. That said if you wanna have random wild sex, well it’s your life.

Part of it for me as well is the fact that I wouldn’t know the person I met 4 hours ago. I don’t know what sort of STDs she could have.

Sex is nice.

Why wouldn’t you want to have some? (unless you’re ugly like some of the above posters)

i don’t see why ugly people wouldn’t want sex. they probably want it more. being ugly would ****ing suck.

Cos it’s not the be-all end-all.

I’m not saying I’m against random sex… But if I’m attracted to someone, even if events led to sex quickly, I would still hope for a relationship. I just don’t see the point in having sex with a random person I’m not attracted to and therefore would not want a relationship with. That’s why I asked the questions I did in my post :). I still hope for answers…

You’re 25% correct lol. If we’re being honest, I think you’re probably unattractive and inexperienced and just lying about who you are on here. That’s the impression I get ;).

A couple of thoughts here that I’ve been contemplating about random hook ups. For girls, why would you give something to a guy outside of a relationship when all he wants is to brag about you? Also, what’s special about marriage/an intimate relationship if sex is everywhere?

Some people don’t for religious/personal reasons.

LOL - do you think women don’t enjoy sex and get horny as well? Women and men have hookups for the same reason - they want to get laid. The difference is it’s not socially acceptable for women to sleep around so they don’t brag about it.

Does this really need to be explained? Sure many people enjoy random hookups, but most people eventually want to have an intimate relationship and be married - someone you not only have sex with, but also enjoy being around and love…I don’t know, I’ve never had sex outside a relationship (been with the same guy for almost 2 years now) so I can’t argue relationship sex > hookup, but I’m guessing it’s more enjoyable if you’re intimate with the person and know them well. Also, marriage comes with legal benefits.

And I don’t really see the point of this article. Is is necessary to point out that
a) some people aren’t getting laid and
b) some women don’t feel comfortable putting out until the guy buys them stuff? :P

“The difference is it’s not socially acceptable for women to sleep around so they don’t brag about it.”

Definitely. I think it’s hypocritical for our society to not hold the same standards for men as we do women.

I definitely understand your other points though.

I keep thinking that “moral, upstanding people” can’t shock me with something stupider than I’ve seen, and I’m always wrong. Do you really think that the only unique aspect of marriage is having sex?

Let’s let the free market sort it out…

At the first message I can only say:

LOL.

Lol, all these news broadcasts hype college up to the point of stupidity. ONS are far less common then you think, yes lots of ****ing makeouts, like its a hug, most of the social student population are in the mid double digits if not triple digits before graduating. But then the girls are satisfied and stop.
