Co-op at Northeastern

Well if you want to live on campus there are usually rooms available. Plus several new dorms which are currently in the planning stages should be open by the time you are a senior. The new dorms will be similar to West Village (apartment style). But if you want to move off campus, there are plenty of apartments available. The best off campus housing is on Gainsborough Street (less than two blocks from campus). Are you planning to live alone or share an apartment? If you want your own place, plan on spending $800-$1100 per month for a Studio and $1,300 to $1400 for a nice one bedroom. If you have roommates the cost of off campus housing is significantly less. Some students pay as little as $450 per month to share an apartment. The money that you earn on co-op should be able to cover your off campus housing expenses. As for meals, you can purchase an on-campus meal plan and eat in any of the dinning halls on campus and at many of the restaurants in the area (your student ID basically acts like a debit card).
