Coffee people, educate me about coffee makers, please

Interesting quote that has a degree of truth to it. Starbucks is not everyone’s favorite but they offered a pleasant departure to a population who believed good coffee was to be had at the local 7-11, the donut shop, or the local gas station. If a diner served a “decent” cup of coffee with the usual pancakes and eggs, the same could not be said a couple of hours later.

With that there is little wonder that some people are happy to endorse the Mr. Coffee or Keurig of this world because they follow the same brewing method, namely pouring hot water over ground coffee. People satisfied with the foam-less and poorly extracted coffee flavor are sticking to the same rules. And that is nothing that a couple of Splenda or non-dairy creamer could not solve. Because that IS the coffee people drink in offices or get in the waiting room of the doctor or dentist.

On the other hand, in Europe, people learned that coffee is made with Melitta filter cones, drunk coffee at the restaurants made with Italian espresso machines, and were blessed with plenty of choices offered by Senseo and Nestl
