Colby does press releases, which provides much of the raw bottom line data that a CDS does. Their âclass of X admittedâ email gives data about the applicant pool and accepted students. Their âclass of X welcomedâ release provides the number of student matriculating, and some data about who comes to Colby. Stats are impressiveâŠ
53% yield (matriculating vs accepted) is pretty steady (this puts it firmly in the tippy-top of LACs - Bowdoin has a 59% yield, Bates a 46% yield, Hamilton 39%, W&L 39%, Amherst 39% - contrast to Princeton at 69%). This means that people that get in really tend to go to Colby. Close to 50th for LACs and the yields drop to high teens to low 20âs percentages.
The Colby admissions committee really seems to be dialed on who would be a good fit and would want to go there.
Unlike other NESCACS, except for Williams, Amherst doesnât offer ED2, so itâs not surprising that their yield is lower.
Does anyone know how long the financial aid appeal process takes for Colby?
Hold on thatâs news to me, you can appeal it?
Yeah u can appeal it!
I think Colby puts a LOT of students on the waitlist. But if you want to go, figure out how to express that -is it an email stating continued interest? Call admissions too. You can ask about waitlist- how many are on it and what % accepted typically.
He got good news somewhere roseâs though??
any updates from Waitlists?
Did any internationals get their I-20 yet?
Has anyone, anywhere, heard from the WL? I know it is more likely to sprout wings and fly to the moon than get off this WL, especially needing FA, but we at least thought we might get an email asking if we wanted to stay on the WL like the other private schools have sent.
i was going to ask the same thing. Has anyone heard anything?
Complete silence.
Will they confirm when the WL is closed or will it just sorta drift away?
