Update: Got off the waitlist 8:30 am PST! Got a call from the AO and he said Colgate moved to the waitlist this year and only a dozen are accepted

Did you apply to Colgate because it was recommended to you on CC?
Actually I don’t even know CC until after applying to all the colleges. I applied to Colgate just cuz I like their strong connections to Wall Street firms and has a strong investment banking placement
Then I’m surprised that you didn’t include Colgate on your list of dozens of schools in the CC topic you opened last July (Chance Me: CA resident, 3.71 UW, 4.18W, 4.21 UCGPA, 1540, first gen, for History). However, Colgate was recommended to you in the first reply based on its notably strong history program.
Ultimately I applied to a lot more schools outside of the list I initially made.
