Collaborative vs Competitive

I am a high school Junior. Once you are in, would you say the following schools are competitive or collaborative, especially for the pre med track students.

Pre-med is an inherently competitive track. You are competing against your fellow students at the same college and those at other college for limited places in medical schools.
