College classes taught at HS not accepted?

<p>SoCal, it sounds as though your petition may be successful, but I just wanted to mention before you do all the paperwork that the maximum credit for AP and college classes taken before graduation combined is 32 USC units.

College courses taken prior to leaving high school:
Students can receive a maximum of 16 elective units for college courses taken before leaving high school. These courses must appear on the college transcript as part of the regular college curriculum and are expected to be taught on the college campus by regular college faculty. As is true for A.P. exams, these courses may fulfill general education Categories I and III only and may not fulfill the writing, diversity or language requirements. College courses taken before high school graduation are included in the 32-unit combined maximum for A.P. or I.B. exams and college courses taken before high school graduation.

<p>So if your son has passed - or expects to pass - eight or more AP tests, it may be a lot of paperwork for nothing - he will already have the maximum credit. If he has seven or fewer APs, then it would be worthwhile to pursue.</p>
