College Comparison XVI: Ethnic Diversity

<p>“…only fair”? Where does it say that all races must be represented at the UCs in their proportion in the population? In fact when Affirmative Action was abolished by law in CA public schools it became illegal to enforce such proportional representation by race.</p>

<p>You think that having a bunch of smart Asians at the UCs will lead to a deterioration in prestige? I would think that replacing many of these smart Asians with a bunch of dumb whites would lead to much bigger loss of prestige.</p>

Another point is that some schools also need those smart Asians to boost their school statistics…so when those Berkeley rejects are distributed in other colleges… they would create a sort of a harmony and balance in the higher education system… lol

<p>Yes, people should go to college based on their race, as opposed to where they can get into. </p>

<p>How about if people don’t like the lack of diversity of Berkeley, they can just not apply there! There are plenty of other people who don’t mind who would love to go to Berkeley.</p>
