Ithaca, NY (Cornell and Ithaca College) was hollywood before hollywood was hollywood. The original Tarzan movies were shot in the gorges on the edges of the Cornell campus … Little Rescal movies were shot in Ithaca (the boat scene with the Little Rascals was shot on Beebe Lake on the Cornell Campus) … some of the Frat houses at Cornell were originally built as sets for movies.

I dont know if this counts, but in Where the Heart Is (WalMart Baby), towards the end there is a scene on a campus that is suppose to be an east coast school, but its shot at Baylor U in TX.
