College needs a better system than SAT

Indeed, the forum demographic that mostly takes the SAT and/or ACT early and often probably should not care too much about the speed of results. It is more likely that first-generation-to-college students in high schools where few go to four year colleges and overworked counselors are mostly focused on avoiding dropouts who may be finding out various college application items (including the SAT and/or ACT) at the last possible moment.

Where speed of results may matter more is for graduating high school seniors taking AP tests and then going to colleges where they may have to select courses before seeing their AP scores (so they do not know whether they would be allowed advanced placement then, so they may have to try to change later if their guesses are not correct).
