College Nickname only the students would know

The initials have been somewhat…corrupted…to mean a couple of different things, none of which I can actually get away with typing here…

UC Santa Cruz was Uncle Charlie’s Summer Camp and looking at the campus you can see why. USC= University of Spoiled Children but I don’t think they called themselves that :-)

Back when University of Louisiana (my alma mater) was called USL, LSU students and alums referred to it as “The Backwards LSU”. haha…not funny. ;)

My husband’s college, Colorado School of Mines, doesn’t have a funny nickname, but the band did. Whenever they took to the field during a game halftime, everyone referred to their show as “The Amoeba Formation”. Engineers…lol!

While at grad school at RIT, my fellow students and I referred to it as “the Brickyard” - don’t know if this name is used by undergrads though. As expected, “the Brickyard” did make the PR list of ugly and unsightly campuses this year…

UCSB - UC of Sunburnt Babes!

“I didn’t go there, but Cal State Northridge used to be called Cow Tech in the 70s. I wonder if the students still call it that.”

I thought Cow Tech was that school in Pasadena that has been said to have a petting zoo, also known as Caltech…
