College of the Holy Cross Class of 2028 Official Thread

I’m still waiting. It says nothing about finial package on acceptance letter…

My D was accepted ED2 and a few hours after her acceptance (received a phone call) we got the official acceptance and FA package. Hope that helps!

So happy! D24 was accepted RD!

My S was accepted and his financial aid was mentioned in the acceptance letter. There was also a second financial package.

Does the financial package include scholarships or just if you applied for financial aid? Or do scholarships come later?

His package included scholarships, grants and loans. Yes, everything was listed.

My son was accepted yesterday RD. His financial decision letter was also posted. I am so proud.

Holy Cross merit aid is extremely selective. I believe the average accepted student has a GPA of 4.1. As far as I know the only scholarships not included in the initial letter are the Brooks Scholarship and the Classics scholarship

The rates this year are wild! It’s so hard on our kids!

I am sorry and really surprised. RD is turning into a gamble these days. I saw people on the HC parent board whose 2nd children were waitlisted due to the insane numbers.

Where can I find the HC parent board?

16% for RD?

16% overall (ED1, ED2, RD).

RD must be even lower. Haven’t seen that %.

Last year, overall was 21% and RD dropped to something like 16.5-17% (per CDS data). Assuming a similar proportion of EDI&II to RD, I’d guess that the admit rate for RD was something like 12%.

on Facebook, College of the Holy Cross Unofficial Facebook Group

I don’t know if this was ever a thing, but it doesn’t appear to exist.

There are two FB groups:
College of the Holy Cross Unofficial Parent Group
College of the Holy Cross Class of 2028 - Parents

I think both ask for HC ID and answer a few question. Hope that helps!

Yes, the “College of the Holy Cross Unofficial Parent Group” on Facebook is the one you want to join. It has current HC parents and a helpful HC administrator answering questions. The “unofficial” part throws people off, but it’s the legit group.(The other one is a Humans of College or some such thing. Junk).
