I would probe for them to be specific about “being in school” … how about studying Arabic in Egypt or Russian in St. Petersberg … learning cultural anthropology in South Africa ??? These programs are a fraction of the cost of regular colleges $10,000± …

By the way, coping with your ailments is a huge “hook”

yeah but my ailments havent given me huge problems where i could use them as a hook. They are pretty well managed, no major problems, just weekend doctor appointments once a month. i dont see how i could use them but also i really dont think i want to. i dont mention my health issues to people i know.

OK … here comes “mom”. The “hook” in my mind is not the fact of the ailment but how you have learned to cope and live with it … I am sure it takes vigilant effort on your part to keep all in balance. You have been dealing with “adversity” for a long time and I am sure you are not aware of it but you have developed a maturity unusual for a person your age.

Colleges want students who can weather storms and have had a few failures/hiccups along the way and learned enough about themselves to be ready to excel in college. Many colleges would be thrilled to have you. it is time to advocate for ourself and I think CC is a great piece of the puzzle … good luck!

your right on something i dont realize i am dealing with adversity because I have lived with these conditions practically all my life I just listen to the doctors and do what it takes to understand my condition (this helped me realize i want to be a doctor). Although i do question the maturity issue (i can be pretty immature at times).

Now my question is would i write about this in my essays or send extra information to prove i have these conditions or something else?

Talk about how the hemophilia has really made you want to be a doctor in your essay. You could start out by talking about what happens during a typical doctor appointment. Or what occurred that suddenly made you realize you wanted to be a doctor.

I knew another kid in my d’s 7th grade class who has hemophilia and HE also knew he wanted to be a doctor/medical researcher–he wants to cure hemophilia. Very quietly motivated kid.

We are looking at many of the same schools. You should have a decent chance at MSU (as others have mentioned). If you are interested in LACs, have you looked at Alma? There are also several schools in Ohio you might want to check out: Hiram College, Ohio University and Wittenberg. If you still need a “safety,” we just visited Grand Valley State University and were impressed by the facilities and faculty. Good luck!

hey op i didnt read your post or question but i just wanted to tell you that most people here arent innately born smart. a lot of them here just spend a lot of hours just studying. very few are born super smart and even fewer geniuses.

I think if you get your ACT up, you can get into Miami. If you get your ACT scores to around maybe 27-28 then i think you can have a strong chance at admission. Just hit those act prep books! and you can do it!!

Many people have given you advice. You keep asking the same thing over and over again. When you don’t get the responses that you are hoping for, you just start another thread and start the process of requesting advice all over again. People have given you links. People have done research for you and made recommendations based on your stats. People have taken the time to post numerous answers and recommendations on your multiple threads about your statistics, but yet you still don’t get it. It’s as if your intention on CC is to continue to post threads until you get someone who will tell you what you want to hear. Take the time to go back and reread what the many posters have written on your threads. Most are in agreement and many have offered good advice.
