<p>I think every student should have TWO staplers - a decent one on the desk, and a small one to carry in the bookbag. </p>

<p>I actually think a small stapler should be REQUIRED for all new students - maybe colleges could issue one along with the PRS clicker, laptop, etc.</p>

<p>When I was a prof, I was stunned at how many students would show up for class with an unstapled paper in hand. I sometimes spent 5 minutes stapling papers for a class of 40 students. I quickly learned to carry my office stapler to class when papers were due.</p>

<p>Some of my profs don’t accept papers unless they are stapled. I don’t blame them one bit. My stapler is small enough to stay in my backpack if I wanted to put it there, but I don’t because the people who carry staplers get mobbed when papers are due.</p>
