@Markham I understand what you are trying to say. My parents opinion are hugely based on the social stigma and mentality that they have been subjected to for their whole life. They, and no other elder around me has any idea how the ‘holistic’ admission process in U.S. works. They have left it all up to me, that said, I could probably steer myself into a fall 2016 admission, but I don’t want my parents to be subjected to unbecoming gossip about how they have a good for nothing son just sitting on his bum all day.
I see this(Spring admit) as a blessing in disguise because,
I could use this spring semster to take a lot of courses and explore my options
and intersts ( high school was either Science or Commerce).
As money is not a problem, I would still steer my path towards starting my path towards a 4 year degree in fall 2016, with certainty towards what I want to do, and a few extra credits up my sleeve.
In regards to an earlier post, UT-Austin is not a good “Match” or “Safe” school for international applicants, or for anyone from out-of-state, on account of its mandate to admit any Texan student in the top 7% of his or her graduating class. They simply do not have many available slots for non-residents. It’s a great place, but nobody from out of state should view it as a shoe-in. Temple has mid-year freshman admissions, also, by the way.
