Reed gives grades, and they go on a traditional transcript. Reed doesn’t post grades, and there’s no deans list, so students are never in competition with each other. Papers are returned with a narrative, not a grade. Though the culture is not to look at grades, students can request to see them. Students are notified if their work is unsatisfactory.
