colleges known for amazing merit aid?

Here are some words you and your parents will learn about 5-10 years from now:
deferment
forbearance
default

I hope not! obviously it is a possibility, and i appreciate the concern, but my parents and I are just trying to find a situation that is best. I’m not planning on going to boston university and get a single dorm and take out a quarter million dollars in debt. I’m hoping to get merit aid to safeties and to possibly commute, and end up in the least amount of debt as possible.

Look at Temple University’s scholarship requirements.

Paying room and board will be difficult on your budget but you might be able graduate without crushing debt.

Other those that give automatic scholarships based on your GPA and test scores, many schools do offer great merit scholarships to outstanding students too. But the criteria is not really well defined as they usually just tell you the minimal requirement. Sometimes, financial needs may also be considered. So you may want to look up the merit aid stat of those schools (% getting merit scholarships and average amount) to decide.
