<p>Thanks @shawnspencer I wish I could visit everywhere! Living in FL, my parents are reluctant to go anywhere north of Virginia. @ucbalumnus thanks for the helpful info! I know I’d never be a sorority person, but I’m not necessarily completely turned off by Greek life presence. Thanks again!</p>
<p>I have a friend who went to JHU for undergrad. He said he felt like a second class citizen there- that all the focus was on the grad students. But he also said that it opened a lot of doors for him when he later (after graduation) decided to apply to grad schools himself.</p>
<p>I suggest at a minimum focusing on schools that are majority undergraduates. I think it’s probably a good indication of the school’s mindset and mission: why is the school there, really? To produce educated young adults, or to do research? There’s nothing wrong with either focus in and of itself, but consider carefully whether you should go to a school focused on a subset of academia that you are not concurrently part of.</p>
