So, don’t limit your search to school with “environmental sciences/studies” programs, also look for schools with programs/centers in limnology (often in biology, ecology & evolution, or zoology departments), water resources, or hydrology. Relevant majors include environmental sciences; zoology; ecology & evolution; biology; water resources (interdisciplinary, or as hydrology in geography or geology/earth sciences depts., or sometimes combined with soil science in colleges of agriculture); fisheries; environmental chemistry/toxicology; geography; geology/earth sciences. </p>
<p>Since there are no academic programs focused entirely on rivers, you could consider universities that have research centers on rivers as they are likely to offer relevant coursework and research opportunities.
