Colleges with take-home / unproctored exams

Exams are done at Davidson that way. It’s possible because of the strong honor code.

Allegheny College also has an honor code that has unproctored tests.

I feel the same as coollege. Take-home exams are convenient, but I am afraid of the possible cheating, especially since some tests are curved and a few cheaters could definitely screw the rest of the class over.

Depends.

Many of my classes have had no exams (only essays), and many of my chemistry classes have had take home exams, sometimes open book in class (all of the take home exams were open everything except SciFinder Scholar).

Essentially, in all of those cases, having the notes weren’t going to help you because the exams were not testing recall at all.
