It’s hard to guess how many slots there really are with the legacies though. Depends how many actually apply this year. It has to vary slightly every year. So you never know.
With so many super-qualified applicants, legacy doesn’t even help that much if you don’t meet the standards.
I found out earlier this week that 3 or 4 other people applied to Columbia ED from my school, and they’re all hooked in some way… (URM, legacy/faculty, possible athletic recruit) So I’m not incredibly optimistic for Thursday. ):

Everyone at my school is obsessed with Yale UPenn, and Cornell. A lot of us end up going to our state school because of in-state tuition and the also it’s pretty good.

@soph1112 It definitely helps to be from AZ! More colleges want geographic diversity. Kids from different areas tend to have unique viewpoints to contribute to the classroom.
I heard CA schools are pretty bad too, but that might just be public schools
