@soph1112 Yup, I love HP! And this whole admission thing is finally hitting me now. Good luck on Thursday, everyone.

@dr0wning IT’S GETTING SO CLOSE! EVERYONE IS ASKING ABOUT RESULTS AND I DONT KNOW I JUST WANNA CRY LOL
@PilotKhyle Same I am literally regretting telling ANYONE I applied because I really do not want to tell everyone when I get rejected
And my AP Calc teacher really wants me to get in because he went there, and my vice principal really wants me to get in because I don’t think my school has ever had anyone go to an Ivy and I am just REALLY FEELING THE PRESSURE RIGHT NOW LOL
I WANT O CRY LITERALLY I CANNOT HANDLE THIS PROCESS OR THIS WAIT ANYMORE
@jj342ay Congrats! I’m applying RD so I still have some time to wait ene do you mind telling us your stats?
edit: looks like it was deleted. well…
@jj342ay congrats dude!
Oh ok he just changed it. I wish you choke on a bagel you troll
@soph1112 I’m so happy you like Ezra. Idk it just makes me happy. I was listening to “campus” and oh man the feelsssssss
How does one receive a “Full Ride” to Columbia? I’m not saying that it has never happened, but if they award 0 merit scholarships and a “full-ride” is a scholarship, then how does that work? I saw someone else post about it a few days ago too and it just came to my mind.
Okay yeah I think that was a fluke lol. The person only has 1 post and changed it minutes later. Idk
Or DO THEY award merit scholarships?
@PilotKhyle they don’t
Because Columbia and the other Ivies (and some other schools) offer grants up to full cost of attendance based on income circumstances. Now whether they have already released financial aid packages I have no idea, I don’t follow Columbia closely. But that is how it is possible. It really isn’t a scholarship, it is a grant. The difference is that a need based grant has to be renewed every year and if financial circumstances change, it might go down or (rare I am sure) go away completely. A true merit scholarship is usually guaranteed for 4 years as long as you keep your grades up and stay out of jail. The above post is correct, none of the Ivies offer merit scholarships as far as I know.
Yeah, I’m not sure how that could be because aren’t our aid packages supposed to come with our admissions decisions?
it’s a lie guys
on the other hand, an acquaintance got into uchicago already even though their decision date hasn’t even been announced
@PilotKhyle my friends and I were discussing college apps and stuff today and they asked where I applied and I told them but now I wish I hadn’t because on Friday they’ll KNOW how it went based on my mood ugh I wish people didn’t know
@dr0wning Same. A soccer player at my school was recruited by uchicago at the beginning of the year, and 5 other kids were recruited by Amherst/Williams. And they did announce the date! It’s going to be 12/18. I spotted you in the uchicago thread as well
