Columbia Early Decision for Fall 2022 Admission

You did your best and you deserve a better school than Columbia. Wish you the best in RD.

Hello : 1.) Keep believing in yourself. 2.Keep trying. 3.) Would you consider writing to the admissions office to explain why you feel you would be a very good fit for Columbia ? If you write a letter an admissions officer will read it and possibly review the reasons for the decision, and offer suggestions. The admissions officer who reads your compelling letter with your reasons for why Columbia is a good fit for you might even ask you to re-apply. You have nothing to lose.

In any event, you are outstanding, and any school will be very lucky to have you.

WRITE THE SCHOOL ADMISSIONS A COMPELLING LETTER. SOMEONE THERE WILL READ YOUR LETTER AND HAVE A LOOK AT YOUR FILE. Admissions officer’s make mistakes and can also re-consider an application, as well as make good suggestions. You have nothing to lose by trying.

My very best to you. Go after what you want.

we have no interview yet, can we talk to school counselor to ask for it?

No.

We were contacted yesterday. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I know several students who were admitted without interviews.

Me too. You shouldn’t worry if you didn’t get an interview.

Has anyone received a likely letter yet if you were deferred?

If you were a candidate for a likely letter, you would not have been deferred.

Not sure that makes sense, but ok. Are you saying that deferred applicants on early round are not likely to get a likely letter and not very likely to be admitted either!?

I’m saying deferred applicants will not be getting a likely letter; they can still be admitted RD. And the vast majority of accepted applicants will not receive a LL.
