Columbia General Studies 2025 Spring Early/Regular Application

I know I’ve been so nervous I just need October 1 to come already

Yeah, I searched everywhere I could no information on acceptance rate for the early action or for spring from past years. I even asked ChatGPT and Perplexity no answers their either.

Well good luck to all of us I’ll keep everyone updated!

I read you all comments and I kinda have the same feelings as you guys. We have approximately 34 hours to get to know the decision. we hope that we all get in. Any one applied for cs?

Just have to get through tomorrow. I feel like waiting for Tuesday till 5 is probably gonna feel so long

I applied to Econ + Sustain Development - but AO told me admissions are not based on majors

Do they just silently update the portal or we get an email with the decision?

Everyone will receive an email that a decision has been made. I applied in 2021 after joining the military but honestly had no business applying at that time, and I was rejected, lol. However, when I was rejected, I received an email at 5:16 stating that there was a status update on my portal. I believe they generally send out acceptances at around 5:00, 5:15, and 5:30.

^This. just have patience if you applied priority early decision, then youre getting a decision sooner than anybody else. Also if you applied as a transfer, youre chances are almost 50/50, extremely high if you match up with the average applicant. Most recent common data sets of fall enrolling applicants showed transfer applicants having an almost 50% chance of being accepted.

Fall 2022, 722 applicants admitted out of 1248 applicants. Ribs is also correct, lots of students tend to change majors so not really about major but more so of fit. First time applicants have a harder time than transfers, only 149 students admitted out of 504 applicants. They expect a 3.7-3.8 GPA by transfer students but the average is around 3.65, so they do admit lower GPA students but chances are harder unless you are very compelling. Keep in mind, these are fall 2022 stats, spring stats might might have lower acceptance rates for transfers since most of spring applicants are usually transferring. Good luck to all!

Fall 2023 had similar stats, 682 admitted out of 1299 applicants. Although I did find the gender statistics to be interesting. The sample numbers are very small so unlikely that it means anything but of 4 applicants that applied as “Another Gender”, 3 were admitted. Probability of 75% is insane for columbia but that sample is so small that its unlikely to mean anything.

Anyone got any news?

No nothing has changed in my portal. I’m gonna check tomorrow morning but I don’t expect anything till 5pm.

Nothing yet but just 19 hrs till we start seeing results. Good luck everyone.

I was asked about some follow-up questions - not sure if it’s a positive or negative sign.

Omg did they reach out today through email?

Ohhhh is it about interview?

Yes. through email - not interview, just several questions needed my answer
