@musicismylife222 Sure! I just sent in only a simple, 1/2 page single spaced letter to the email address that they provided for us to send the additional letter to if we had a continued interest. I did not send in anything else. In the letter, I opened with an expressed interest that Columbia was my first choice. I then spoke very briefly about my campus visit/why I was attracted to Columbia. The third paragraph was about general awards and updates since I applied i.e. merit scholarships I have received and an academic honor award I got from my school, however nothing super ‘big’ or major like a national award or anything. I then just finished with a quick thank you for consideration, and just sent it off. It really was not long at all, as I imagine they don’t want to read 500+ words from the many waitlisted students. I kept it simple, and hoped for the best!
@confidence2110 Thank you. Does she also have a 10 day window to decide? Was she looking to receive financial aid and if yes, is the financial aid office fair in what they are giving to her?

@ivyleague987 I think I am going to accept! I deposited for Duke originally, but was considering seeing if I could switch to Dartmouth before I received the Columbia news!

There are some posters in this thread who indicated they got off the waitlist for Columbia College. Is that just a typo? Because there is a Columbia College as well as Columbia University. Isn’t the College in Chicago?
@consumermom columbia college and SEAS (school of engineering and applied sciences) are the undergrad schools of columbia university

Thanks all, obviously I know very little about Columbia!!! Being waitlisted is so hard. My daughter is all settled with her commitment but is still on edge in case a miracle happens with Columbia.
Do you know if Columbia does extended waitlists like other schools? And @musicismylife222 , did the lady specify the date or just say sometime this week?

Hopefully more this upcoming Friday? last year they sent them out in waves
