Columbia University ED Class of 2022

so far no one from my school got into ivies. 1 tried for Stanford and another 2 for Cornell and all 3 got rejected and then a good 10 tried for Princeton and 2 got deferred from what I heard so far. So my fingers r crossed, 1 day 2 hours and 27 minutes left.

I have a math competition when the results come out; I’m debating whether I should wait to open them or find out at the competition. Tough call.

I truly feel like I’m going to be rejected, but if you want to feel happy and know what acceptance feels like read this:

@nickyflash wait til it’s over. you’ll probably be too excited or disappointed to focus for the rest of the competition

so Columbia sends a video if you are accepted??

Ik some people have done this already but what r you guys gonna be doing when admission decisions come out?

I’m gonna be doing a graphic design project with a theme on “why you are beautiful”

@biochem0228 Yeah I guess so! Watch them screw with us and do something completely different. I doubt it though bc they used the same letter about when decisions are released.

@biochem0228
From YouTube, I saw that they send you a “Congratulations!” video. Probably just a standard letter if you’re rejected.

I’m watching Netflix to get my mind off tomorrow, but I know I should start on my supps.

I will be driving home from school. I leave around 5:50 (central time!) and it’s a half hour drive, so that’ll be fun on the highway in rush hour traffic thinking about the portal :frowning: one of my super good friends is getting a Yale decision around the same time (although they don’t have a time frame) so I might stay at school to find out, but probably not.

@katewithak I hate night school. Although I love chem, I had an organic chem class that went until 9:20 this semester.

@birjudhaduk lol probably stressing and surfing the internet about CU! I This is the next four years of our life being potentially announced tomorrow, I won’t be able to focus on homework!

im feeling kinda good about tomorrow but i dont wanna jinx anything haha. ive been avoiding my columbia stuff all week but i think im gonna wear my columbia baseball cap tomorrow and hope for the best

lol I wore a penn shirt today (their results come out today) so now everyone thinks I applied to penn and no one will bother me tomorrow at school. I call that a win

@1984ad Feel free to look at my “looking for schools” thread to get my whole story, but long story short: I applied to college last year. I had no idea what I wanted. I enrolled at Cornell; I visited Cornell; I withdrew from Cornell. I’m back at square one, taking a gap year and reapplying to schools.

I looked up when the rest of the schools get their decisions and I just realized how extra MIT is. Like Yale is kinda annoying with the around 5 pm, like can’t you give a definite time, but MIT over here is like Tau Time (6:28 - pi*2) like bruh, Why???

I’m just super nervous because so many people in my school know I applied ED even my teachers …

honestly, I feel like I’m gonna be too scared to click on View Update and check when the time comes and end up waiting until friday morning and have my ap lit teacher open it or my chem teacher from sophomore year who’s room all my friends and I hang out at in the morning

wow MIT has exactly zero chill. my anatomy and chem teacher has a bachelors and a masters from there and words has it that in the 7 years since she got her last degree nothing has changed

College Confidential - “Maintenance will occur on the site beginning at 10:00 am PT tomorrow morning. While it is very unlikely, this may result in intermittent down time. Thank you in advance for your understanding!”

Welp, looks like we won’t be on here tmw when the decisions come out. lol
