@nStabile20 You could quickly try different bases and see that base 8 works. For instance, 1000 in base 10 is 512. 440 in base 10 is 288. She receives 340 m.u. in change which is 224 in base 10 and since 512-288 is 224, r is 8.
How did you guys solve the problems in the science section with the cross section of earth with squigly lines, shale, limestone, soil and stuff?
I skipped those, but for the challenge math that asked for a perpendicular slope, did you get -6?
@nStabile20 yes thats correct
how many did you answer for each section?
@nStabile20 I answered all 50 for the first math section, 73 for the science section, and just 12 that I was confident about for the challenge math. How about you?
Did you guys get 48 for the 1:7:24 ratio question because it was 1 differences, 7 sum, and 24 product, and the numbers were 8 and 6. Difference is 2, sum is 14, and product is 48. that simplifies to 1:7:24
@mStabile20 Yeah. You remember what exactly the square problem said? I’m trying to see if I didn’t fully follow the directions.
Did you guys get an answer which was like -2<x<3 (maybe that is wrong all i remember was I put choice a)
@mStabile20 yup
the one with the diagonals? Well it said that the side of s2 was a diagonal of s1 so then you could have a right triangle, so you have s1 squared + s1 squared or 1 squared + 1 square. That has too equal square root 2 times square root 2 is 2, so s1 over s2 is 1/2
@mStabile20 I thought it said that the side of square 1 was a diagonal of square 2 so i got 2 but I guess thats wrong. You think I could still get in with a 10/15 on the challenge part?
How do they grade it if you didn’t do all 15?
yea how do they grade if you didn’t answer all questions? right now for the challenge, i am at an 8/9 but for the math i believe I am still at a 36/36 and a 41/41 for the science
i think they still do it out of 50, 75, and 15 respectively but if you get it wrong, they take off an extra penalty like 1/4 or 1/3.
idk I just hope they see that the questions I answered were right
same. I answered 12 and now I’m at a 10. Im screwed.
Do you I have good chances of getting in considering I am a freshman
@sidthekid123 Lol I answered 10 and now i’m at 8
do you know how the test are graded @simeonss
