The up right bike I ride at the gym has a really stiff seat, & the first few times I rode it, I could hardly stand it. But while I wouldn’t say I now think it is * cushy*, I can say that I no longer really notice.

Ahhh… we missed ya, Dad II Where ya been?

So you realize it isn’t the seat causing the pressure, its the chips and soda, right?

I’m surprised that Bowflex or somebody hasn’t come out with an Exercise Sofa or an Exercise Recliner, where you can enjoy a comfy seat in front of the TV, while slowly pedalling, and burning almost as many calories as takes to change the channel with the clicker.

^ He’s been off on a trip going from a cold location to warm. ;)

Idad that’s why I don’t go to the gym in the morning, cause most likely my neighbor on the bike is going to be riding at a very leisurely pace, & casually flipping through a magazine.

That is fine I guess if that is all your body can do, but I prefer to concentrate on what I am doing. Yes I listen to music and find it hard to push myself without it, but I don’t think you can get stronger * unless* you push yourself & you have a harder time doing that if you aren’t paying attention to your body.

Exercise bikes are overrated. One can get quite fit without leaving the couch. Check what these reputable websites have to offer as far a exercise without leaving the couch goes:

I’m not kidding.

It’s pretty hard to be aerobic on the couch. Well, sustained anyway.

You don’t need a bike at all. Just get something called a “pedal exerciser”, which is designed to let you get minimal exercise while sitting on the couch. Costs less than a new bicycle seat.

I believe it is called “interval training” ;)

Oh thats right EK-- how was the trip to Hawaii Dad II?

At least at our age! I do have vague memories of getting aerobic on a few couches in my younger days, but, alas, the memories do grow dim…

Ewwww, TMI interestedad, TMI

Welcome back Dad II…another “little levity” thread…heh?

Ditching the chips and soda will doubly save you money…you won’t need that new bike seat at all, and you won’t be buying the junk food either.
