Coming across a bad auto accident

I agree- I was rusty with my CPR skills, but fortunately there were many others around who immediately jumped to help. Unfortunately to no avail… :(

Now they have EMTs on bicycles with portable defibrillators monitoring the race. Too bad they didnt back then. This poor 34 yrs old fa of 2 might still be alive.

I carry plastic gloves in my car, too. Once I helped an accident victim who was bleeding and didn’t have protection for myself.

We had a situation back when I was in high school where a situation just got compounded into something horrific. I don’t know all of the details precisely, but IIRC, an old couple was having car troubles so the husband was going around back to the trunk to get something. While this happened, and I’m not sure of the exact circumstances of it anymore, a bus rear-ended another car which careened into the man and traumatically severed his legs. A friend on the bus told me that supposedly one of his legs hit the door of the bus, but I’m unsure as to whether or not this happened for certain or if it was an exaggeration. Either way, a bus load of high school students witnessed the whole thing and it was a very gory, horrific scene (my bus drove by it before help arrived and before they closed off traffic).

Many of the students were very traumatized by this, and they did a school wide announcement to let everyone know that they could go see the counselors if they needed help.
