<p>The Fiat commerial is a real joke. First of all, JLo never drove the car through her old 'hood. It was a body double who did that, and the final scene with JLo in her flowy Gucci dress and stiletto Gucci heels (of course!) stepping out of the car was filmed in LA. Then, according to some reports, the car failed to start at one point during the filming. Gucci should stick to making purses and shoes, Lol!</p>
<p>I think most jewelry commercials irritate me. Specifically, the “He went to Jared” commercials, and the Kay commercial I saw recently with the father graduating from college, giving the necklace to his wife, and the little girl going, “You did it, daddy!” I made a gagging motion and my mother responded, “You just did what I was thinking.” </p>
<p>I’ll take intentionally bizarre over sappy ANY day.</p>
<p>My husband loves the mayhem commercials I think its for Allstate. Describes accidnts that are caused by blind spots, or bad Gps, but the guy"mayhem" portrays these. he also likes the ones with the talking babies.</p>
<p>For me, nothing beats the Toyota Highlander “Parents Don’t Be Lame” commercial.</p>

<p>I’m not sure about the tubs now as my #1 absurd commercial, because I just saw another one. Clean coal… There is NO such thing as “clean coal”.</p>

<p>If we are talking absurdity, the ones that always get me are the color tv ads, for two reasons: </p>
<p>1 - If you are watching the ad on a tv that is not the one being advertised then the picture you see will only be as good as the tv you’re watching – it won’t show the true picture you get from the tv in the ad. </p>
<p>2 - If you do have the tv in the ad then watching the ad is a waste of time.</p>
<p>As for the rest of ads, I worship my “mute” button.</p>

<p>This ad is one of my favorites also. I think the casting is fantastic - every face is perfect, and the range of emotions the actors portray, even though only one of them speaks, is incredible. From an acting/casting perspective, this is probably one of the best commercials on TV.</p>
<p>My next favorite commercial is a car commercial touting the car’s fuel efficiency. It’s the one where the two guys get in a car, but forgot their music so they put in a CD teaching Spanish. Cracks me up every time.</p>

<p>Theres a commercial I hate (well there’s a lot actually), I’m not sure if it’s local or not, this kids “draws” all over the side of mom’s car with a rock…she comes outside and just rolls her eyes…are you kidding me?</p>
<p>Another vote for Lexus. Not the idea behind it but linking it to that awful music.</p>
<p>Ford has a new ad about how everyone’s pinching pennies these days, and then says, “How about saving on gas? Our new [whatever truck it is] gets [however many] miles per gallon!” Yeah - you’re on a budget, so just go out and buy a new truck! That’s how to save money!</p>
<p>And of course there’s now the new eBay commercial with the family singing “The Twelve Days of Christmas” until they get to the teenager who whines about how she hates the gifts she’s gotten and how she hopes everyone will just “stick to the list” this year. That kid would have seen the last gift ever!</p>
<p>^ Ugh, I hate even being reminded of that commercial with the whiny girl. No single commercial has me lunging for the mute button quicker than that one.</p>

<p>Real story:</p>
<p>A woman told me that she was outside in her yard when her next door neighbor brought her 16 y/o birthday girl out to their driveway with a blindfold on. In the driveway was a brand new Hyundai SUV with a big bow on it. She videotaped her daughter as she pulled off the blindfold and began crying, saying “Oh my God, that’s such a crappy car.” Dad proceeded to pull up in a new BMW. Mom and Dad were both laughing at the “joke” they had played on their daughter. The Hyundai was a rental they got for the day as part of the joke. Daughter was then very happy about her “real” present, and the family then had a big group hug.</p>
<p>I thought I was going to be sick when I heard this story.</p>
