Does anyone know when does the harvard committee assemble and begin to vote for applicants and when they end?
I want to make sure that my scores get there on time. Thanks :)

The full Committee is currently meeting and will probably meet until around December 10-11th.

@gibby do you know any place we can find out about anything released from them, like numbers and stuff

so they started meeting on december 1 to vote on the applicants?

@vanshmurad: Harvard usually releases their numbers when they make their SCEA announcement. For example, here’s LAST YEAR’s announcement: <a href=“992 admitted under Early Action – Harvard Gazette”>http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2013/12/992-admitted-under-early-action/

@boomboom123: Yes

and why is everyone saying result will be out on 11 this time ?

@gibby

Everyone is guessing the 12th, as midnight on the 11th is the last chance applicants have of changing their notification email address: https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html

when was last year’s out by and when was the last day to change ur email last year

was it immediately after the deadline to change your email?

@gibby Thank you so much for all of your useful information (not just on this thread but everywhere!) I really appreciate it. By any chance, do you know when the committee started meeting?

^^ No, I don’t know.

Every time this thread comes up, I half expect the closing credits to roll.

does the admission committee operate on weekends?

Yes. Half of the Admissions Committee is Harvard faculty, so those professors need to be free from their teaching duties for the Full Committee to meet. They could have been meeting in the evenings and weekends before Thanksgiving. The last day of classes before the Thanksgiving break was Tuesday (11/25). So, the Committee could have met on Wednesday (11/26), Friday (11/28), Saturday (11/29) and Sunday (11/30). Classes resumed Monday (12/1) through Wednesday (12/3), so the faculty would have been busy then. Reading period (in which classes do not meet) goes from from 12/4 to 12/10, so the Full Committee will probably be meeting that entire time.

@gibby: Wow, thank was really helpful information. Thank you so much for all of your assistance :)
