Common App Download quetion

How can you tell on the common app if a college has downloaded your application?

I don’t think you can. Not sure why that would matter? If it’s a rolling decisions college, I assume they will do so quickly.

Not on the common app, but the college’s application portal should tell you what they’ve downloaded/received.

On the dashboard in the common app it will say ā€˜downloaded by college’ once the school downloads it. That does not mean they’ve reviewed your app.

Super helpful. So I submitted 8 apps on August 4-6. All still say submitted. So I don’t think any of the 8 colleges (4 are rolling - Ark, Bama, Clemson, Ole Miss) have downloaded yet (as of 8-15).

I haven’t received the email from the colleges yet to create a portal even though I applied Aug. 4

A number of schools we visited indicated that they begin downloading apps in late August or early September. None of them are the ones you mention but just noting that several told us they don’t necessarily do it immediately. Also…this was a couple of years ago…our one rolling admission college downloaded our application but didn’t act on it for several weeks even though others were getting decisions. It turned out our high school counselor had not uploaded their recommendation. My child was accepted the day after the rec was uploaded.
