Is it advisable to use the commonapp website and fill out apps there? Should we read the legal agreement and all or can I skim through it based on the fact that everyone applies using it? Do we have to pay for it?

dchow … sorry if I am being stupid but i still am not clear. if independent research is my EC, do i include that. I mean EC don’t have to school-oriented do they? even comm service is an EC and so is baby-sitting, ain’t it?

Wait do you type your info on to the application?

I need more space for EC what do i do?

Im confused on the future plans page 1?

Where do we write the essay?

Thanks

You can add the extra ECs in the additional info page.
The essays go in the “Writing” part of the application.

so I forgot the date of when I stopped doing an activity sophomore year. I dont how that is so out of the ordinary. I never saw remembering the date as important.

So can someone plz give me a serious answer to my question.

thanks dchow08.another quick question.
can colleges see it if i put 2 possible careers? financial analysts in the first box and Investment Banker in the blank box?cuz its still able to be saved by the system.

chinnychinchang: I don’t know exactly what you mean. You can certainly apply online if you want.

adrivit: If it’s something done outside of schoolwork, and it’s not a paid job, it can go in EC.

robertdwsmith: If you apply online you can type your information. That’s why it’s called applying online. Most people don’t need extra space on the EC list. Just fit in everything you can, and if you feel that there’s something important that is left out you can put it in Additional Info. I can’t help you with the future plans because you never indicated what you’re confused about. All you do is answer the questions they give you. There’s nothing difficult about that. You write the essay where it tells you to write the essay. Follow the instructions they give.

john6391: There comes a point in life when you have to use your brain and think for yourself. To me the answer is so obvious that I won’t even give it to you.

Winston.C: I don’t know if colleges can see 2 different careers.

hey do you guys know if this is the “real” common app? https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Docs/downloadforms/CombinedFirstYearForms2009.pdf

Any have any idea when the transfer app will come out?

Question:
For some schools, CommonApp has “This supplement is not available” but the materials are ready for download on the school’s own website. Should I print them now, or wait for the Supplements to come online in CommonApp? Will there be interactive forms of the supplements online so we can submit them electronically instead of having to print/mail parts?

Thanks!!!

err, i managed 2 seasons of a varsity sport (and therefore got 2 letters…)
do i mention this anywhere??

I don’t know if its been answer but what about non-academic awards?
The common app says:
"Briefly list any academic distinctions or honors you have received since the ninth grade or international equivalent (e.g. National Merit, Cum Laude Society). "
What is we won like the presidential service award or something? Should we list it there too?

The Transfer Application is now released:

https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/DownloadForms.aspx

But students still can’t register as a transfer student yet…

I have the same problem. Is this copy what the colleges get? If it is, I’m worried because the end of my EC description is cut off, as well as some of the names of my SAT IIs.
