<p>The most common brand seems to be Dell, with a good number of people I know (including myself) owning Dell Latitudes. Macs would be the next most common, and then there’s a scattering of other brands. The main advantage of a Dell is that Yale has Dell certified technicians on campus who can fix your computer if something goes wrong (this may be true for Macs too, I’m not sure). Dells are also generally cheaper. On the other hand, they have a bit of a reputation for being lower quality than some other brands. Whatever you get, make sure you get a 4 year warranty if you’re planning to use the same computer the whole time you’re at Yale.</p>
